The work of Richard
Gee
My work represents a way of working
which is initially arbitrary and instinctive with the desire
for a natural evolution and the opportunity for surprise.
My paintings, prints, collages and drawings are works of imagination,
influenced by emotional and intellectual experiences which
range from the ordinary and personal to bigger questions common
to many.

Glass from

I became
hooked on glass in the early 1990s and went on to complete
a glass degree at the University of Wolverhampton.
For me the beauty and fascination of glass lies in the interplay
with light, and the resulting illumination of the colour within.
I love the ability to look into the glass and see miniature
galaxies of bubbles, vibrant colour and texture – I guess
I'm just a colour junkie!
I work in kiln-formed glass, fusing layers of glass with enamel
colours. Much of my inspiration for the pieces I create comes
from the natural world. I am originally from Scotland, and
love the gorgeous marine colours and textures of the West
Highland coastline. I am now based in Pembrokeshire on the
Welsh coast, where the landscape and history continue to fuel
my creative imagination.
